Golf Courses in Kaziranga

The region of Kaziranga in Assam has two golf courses that offer a unique golfing experience in the midst of nature. The Jorhat Golf Course and the Kaziranga Golf Resort are both located near the national park and provide scenic views of the surrounding landscape. Both courses are designed by renowned golf architect Ranjit Nanda and feature challenging fairways, bunkers, water hazards, and greens.

Jorhat Golf Course

The Jorhat Golf Course is one of the oldest golf courses in India. It was established in 1876 by British tea planters who wanted to enjoy their favourite sport in their leisure time. The course is located in the Jorhat Gymkhana Club, which is a heritage property that also houses a swimming pool, a tennis court, a billiards room, and a library. The course is an 18-hole par-70 course that measures 6,200 yards from the championship tees. The course is known for its narrow fairways, undulating greens, and mature trees. The signature hole is the par-4 18th, which requires a tee shot over a pond to a dogleg right fairway. The green is surrounded by bunkers and trees, making it a tough finishing hole.
The Jorhat Golf Course also has a clubhouse that offers various facilities and amenities for its members and guests. These include a pro shop, a driving range, a caddy service, a locker room, a bar, and a restaurant.
