The golf course was established in 1940 by the late Maharaja Jayachamaraja Wadiyar, who was a keen golfer and patron of sports. The course is well-maintained and offers a variety of lakes, wide fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and large greens. The course is also home to the annual Maharaja’s Cup, a prestigious golf tournament in India.
- You will play 18 holes at the Ooty Golf Course in Ooty, which is situated at an altitude of 7200 feet and covers an area of 65 acres. The golf course was built in 1896 by the British and is one of the oldest and highest golf courses in India. The course is surrounded by lush greenery, eucalyptus trees, and tea plantations. The course is challenging and requires accuracy and skill, as it has undulating fairways, blind shots, and tricky greens.
